Food Tour FAQs

Tickets & Dates

  • What is your refund policy?

    • All ticket sales are FINAL outside of two situations. In these situations, you will be refunded 100% of the tour price, but Eventbrite may not refund their fees:

      • (a) We are forced to cancel the tour. The only reasons we will ever cancel a tour is due to extreme weather, or if Amaara and Aashim are abducted by aliens.

      • (b) You have symptoms of COVID-19 and/or have tested positive for COVID-19. Safe is a whole lot better than sorry, please always choose your health and the health of others first. You will be refunded.

  • Can I transfer my ticket to someone else?

    • Yes, as long as you provide us 48 hours notice. We will need the replacement attendee’s full name, email address, dietary preferences and allergy notes. Once we reply via email to confirm that we can accommodate the replacement attendee based on their individual needs, the transfer is confirmed. They’re probably half as cool as you but I guess we’ll manage.

  • What is your weather policy?

    • Toronto can get real cold, and real hot. For most weather conditions, we will advise you to dress accordingly and be prepared, as the tour will run rain, snow or shine. In the chance of extreme weather, when it would be unsafe (and irresponsible) to operate the tour, we will send a cancellation notice and issue a 100% refund.

  • Do I have to purchase tickets in advance? Can I pay for the tour in cash?

    • Yes, tickets must be purchased in advance through Eventbrite to reserve your spot for the tour. You have the option of paying with a credit or debit card. We’re just a couple Gen Z’s who never have cash oops…

  • What is the donation for?

    • We believe in the power of food to create a positive impact in our local community, and lots of incredible organizations across the Greater Toronto Area do just that! $5 from every ticket purchase will go towards FoodShare. To read more about the important work they do, click here

  • Are gift certificates available?

    • Unfortunately at this time gift certificates are not available, but maybe in the future! The thought of you wanting to gift somebody our tour makes us blush!

  • If a particular date is sold out, what are my options?

    • You can either find another date with open slots or sign up for the waitlist for the date of choice on Eventbrite. We also recommend signing up for our newsletter here, which is where we release new dates first. Plus, we share some other exclusives. For reading through our FAQ, here’s a little hidden surprise: a map of some of the best patios with ACTUALLY good food in the GTA

  • Do you support corporate or private events?

    • We are not currently booking corporate or private events during our soft launch of the tour, however this is something we hope to provide once we fully launch. One day you can have us all to yourselves!

  • Why are there only 4 weeks available?

    • We will be on vacation at the end of August – if only we could clone ourselves 🙁 Stay tuned for the full launch of our food tour in September!

Tour Experience

  • What is your COVID-19 Policy?

    • Please note that we WILL be dining indoors during multiple stops of this tour, and you MAY be seated at tables with tour guests that are not part of your immediate household or party.

    • All guests and tour guides MUST wear masks while indoors, except when eating. While outdoors, the choice is yours but we encourage anyone who wishes to keep a mask on to do so.

    • All bites + sips will be INDIVIDUALLY PLATED, there will be no awkward dancing around each other to grab food from a platter.

    • We will be providing hand sanitizer for those who need it.

    • Please refer to our refund policy if you have symptoms of COVID-19 or have tested positive for COVID-19. Health comes first.

  • What should I bring?

    • Your appetite!

    • Mask – it is mandatory

    • Hand sanitizer

    • Appropriate footwear for walking. In total, we will walk for about 1.7km over the course of 3 hours

    • Appropriate gear for the weather. Umbrella, rain jacket, hat, sunglasses etc.

    • A water bottle – stay hydrated! No plastic water bottles will be provided on the tour, and while there may be cups of water and drink tastings during the tour, that might not be sufficient

    • A container for any leftovers you want to bring home from the tour

    • Of course, a phone and/or camera to capture great memories during the tour and to share on all the social medias!

  • Why should I go on a food tour in my own city?

    • Great question! Well, our food tour isn’t just a group of people eating tasty food at a bunch of restaurants. Of course, that’s a big part of it, but we want to make your experience memorable. At each spot, you will be guided through some tasty bites, but you’ll also learn about the history of the cuisine, the story of the restaurant and we’ll even chat with the people behind the food! Between stops, we’ll share cool details about this underrated neighbourhood. At the end, we’ll give you a handy handout of all our favourite sights and bites in the area so you’ll have plenty of reasons to return.

  • How much food will there be?

    • One thing we can guarantee on this food tour: lots of eating. But, we make sure to spread it out so you don’t end up in a food coma! Two tips here: pack a tupperware for any leftovers, and skip or have a light breakfast. Just trust us, these two are key.

  • Where do we go on the tour?

    • We will be visiting 5-6 of our favourite local spots along the Danforth, sampling a world of cuisines. You’ll be in for a pleasant surprise, but if you’re really curious, check out our socials for some hints!

  • What type of food is served on the tour?

    • Toronto is known for its diversity, and as this is the Global Eats Food Tour, we’ll be trying dishes and drinks from around the world. A couple of these dishes may be a tad outside your personal comfort zone, but that’s why we’re around to guide you through it!

  • What time and where should I arrive for the food tour?

    • Please arrive at the meeting point (708 Danforth Ave) for 10:50am. Please arrive on time as the tour starts at 11am sharp and we do not want you to miss out on any first bites!

  • Who can we contact on the day of the food tour?

    • If you are lost or need help on the day of the tour, we will provide a contact phone number to reach us via text or call.

  • Does the food tour include drinks?

    • There are 2-3 drink tastings provided on the tour. If you’re super thirsty, there are many great cafes along the Danforth where you can purchase a drink. Water might be provided at some stops, however, we strongly suggest bringing your own water bottle!

  • Are tours only offered in English?

    • Yes, the tour is only offered in English. We’re too busy eating to learn languages (and we also kinda suck at it oops).

  • How many people are on this tour?

    • Tours are currently operating at an 8 guest maximum limit. But, if only two people sign up, we will honour the reservation! More one-on-one time never hurts 🙂

  • Is there alcohol on the tour?

    • At this time there is no alcohol on the tour. We will share some spots where you can change that right after the tour though!

  • Are cameras allowed?

    • Yes! Taking photos, videos, Instagram stories, TikToks and all things social are highly encouraged! There’s ample photo-worthy dishes on the tour – just remember to tag us @seed.eat.repeat on Instagram and mention us @amaara.aashim on TikTok!

Dietary

  • What diets can you accommodate?

    • At this time we are only able to confidently provide a vegetarian and pescatarian option for the tour. Please make sure to select this on Eventbrite so we can plan accordingly. That means that other diets such as gluten-free, keto, vegan, kosher and donuts-only CANNOT be accommodated unfortunately.

  • What allergies can you accommodate?

    • Please email us at seed.eat.repeat@gmail.com or DM us on Instagram @seed.eat.repeat to check in with us, and we’ll let you know on a case-by-case basis. The only thing we absolutely cannot guarantee is that there won’t be traces of any particular allergen in the restaurants we visit.

Accessibility & Transportation

  • Are there washrooms on the tour?

    • Yes, most, if not all of the restaurants will have washrooms available for use during the tour.

  • Are the tours accessible?

    • Unfortunately, at this time, the tours are not fully accessible. We would like to change that one day!

  • How do I get to the tour?

    • We have designed this tour to be extremely transit-friendly. The tour starts just a few minutes from Pape TTC subway station, and ends just a few minutes away from Coxwell TTC subway station. Both are on the Bloor-Danforth line.

    • Toronto isn’t the greatest for bike lanes but the ones on the Danforth are pretty nice! Lots of bike parking, and easy access to Bike Share Toronto as well along the tour route.

    • There is lots of free street parking available on side streets just off the Danforth, or there’s always timed, paid parking on the Danforth. Please read the parking signs as the rules and hours depend on which side street you are on (we’ve gotten this mixed up a couple of times ourselves…). There are also 2-3 Green P parking lots scattered between Pape and Coxwell, the boundaries of the tour. Our tip: with tons of free parking available, there’s no need to pay on this stretch.

  • Can I bring children or infants on the tour?

    • Yes! Children are welcome as long as they are accompanied by an adult. Children under 3 years old can tag along free of charge. Above that, they are charged the full adult rate. Please also keep in mind that we will be doing a fair amount of walking on this tour and to plan accordingly on if this is appropriate for your child. As well, some of the locations we visit are small and may not be able to handle strollers.

  • Does the tour end at the same place we meet?

    • The tour does not end at the same place we meet. If you are driving, it’s a 20 minute walk back to the start line, or 3 stops on the TTC.
